GIS and Mapping

A geographic information system (GIS) is a computer system designed to capture, store, manipulate, analyze and mange geographic data. Companies that provide GIS services take geographic information and provide 2D/3D visualization of the data, surface modeling calculation, etc. These companies may also provide GIS mapping which is the analysis and visual display of data via a color-coded geographical maps.
